Brittany & Sven

The crisp, spring air made everything feel alive- it was a fantastic day to mark the beginning of a life together.
I had the wonderful pleasure of photographing the wedding of Brittany and Sven, surrounded by their loving families and friends.  Spirits were alive as the spring day outside and everyone was smiling.

The stunning rings...I love the details- AND my macro lens!!
The flowers were fabulous. The spring colors were really
bright and lovely!

What girl doesn't love a beautiful ring?!  These lovely
bridesmaids were SSSSOOO much fun.  And beautiful!
Yes-these men were good looking, fun AND strong!
Sweet detail- Mrs. Creutz written across the back of her flats.

These fun folks didn't hesitate to strike a fun dance party pose!  Great job!

The new Mr. and Mrs. Creutz!

Thanks for allowing me to be a part of your lovely day.  Congratulations on your wedding.

Kate and Will

For some, Friday the 13th is associated with bad luck, but for Kate and Will, it's the best kind of luck.  They had their first date on Friday the 13th, and were married last night on Friday, July 13th, in a classy, intimate back yard ceremony.
The weather cooperated perfectly-slight cloud cover and a light breeze.  The archway of flowers was gorgeous and the landscaping impeccable.  The families gathered at the house for the ceremony, and last minute preparations took place.  The bride's bouquet was truly beautiful-wow!
The bride's dress was elegant and chic.  And as she got ready in her childhood bedroom, her happiness was evident as she talked and giggled with her sisters.
This chick was ready to get hitched! ;)
The kiss during the ceremony, under the beautiful arch with perfect evening lighting...nice!
I got to spend some time with the bride and groom near the end to get some lovely shots of just the two of them.  Even in the heat, they were so easy to work with...just sweet, giddy, and in love!  They were willing to do whatever!
I love the ladder pic-just their sense of humor!  The ladder was out for the group shot and they decided to take on Friday the 13th by posing under the ladder!
The getaway car...a perfect ending to a fantastic evening.

Thanks to Kate and Will, for letting me be part of your special day.  It was truly beautiful and full of love, hope, and laughter.  Best wishes to you always.

Holly and Wes

I had the honor of photographing the gorgeous wedding of Holly and Wes.  The day was a little warm, but it did nothing to affect the happiness that day.
Everyone was relaxed and ready to roll...the calmness in the air was comforting and happy.  It just seemed like things were set, no qualms or worries, no last minute changes.  Just ready.  Peaceful.  It was very reassuring and made a very easy job for me!
The bride looked gorgeous- elegant and simple.  Just lovely. Her bouquet was just lovely as well.
The details shots are always some of my favs...all the work that went into planning each little thing with love and meaning.
The skylights in the church made some beautiful lighting at the altar.  I couldn't resist!  The light was warm and even and just made the gorgeous sanctuary glow!

It's that beautiful light again...the minister gave a sweet talk and they look so serious here.  Just listening intently to the words spoken.  It was heartwarming to watch them.
The calmness before THE LOVE BUS ride!

Ok- the jumping shot had the usual directions, EXCEPT for one thing:  on 3, all pregnant girls do DOWN!  See how well they listen? ;)  And I love the extra enthusiasm and effort from the two on the right.  Giddy up!

I adore this shot of Wes and Holly just before they entered the reception! I just said cuddle up and this shot says it all- just super sweet and secure in each other. Love that!
To Wes and Holly- thanks for making my job so easy and joyful.  Your serene attitudes set the tranquil, reassured tone for the day and put everyone at ease and made for a flawless ceremony and reception. It was such a pleasure spending your special day with you-I wish you both all the best always.

Trey-

Ya know how some people just make things look easy? Like whatever it is, it's no problem? That's how Trey strikes me. Like whatever comes up or is needed, he can handle. So easy going and sure of himself, he was a delight to photograph. He didn't hesitate once...not even a little bit. Not even when I found the secret word that would ALWAYS make his smile sincere-every single time. (Read on to find out...) We started out in Brownstown and traveled east to my back yard, but the setting didn't matter. He did a great job posing for the shots. He followed all the directions to a T!

Yes, in case you are wondering, we used the secret word here-see what I mean? GREAT, sincere, sweet smile! Ta da! It also helps that he is pleasant every single time I see him. He's a glass half full kind of guy, an optimist, I am guessing.

The weather and leaves cooperated quite nicely and with some great coordinating on the clothing colors-it was a great success.

The next image is one of my favs- GREAT family shot. And for those of you who were curious about the smile 'trigger word' for Trey- it was....Mom. Seriously. She was there for the whole shoot and the two of them were hilarious together. I really am not quite sure who found whom funnier, but it made for a great social atmosphere. The word may have started out as some silly phrase about lovin' his mom, or being a momma's boy or something, but he couldn't help himself whenever I said it, for whatever reason. And it worked like a charm! I have to resort to any method that works here, folks!

It was a pleasure working with your darling, polite family and an honor to do Trey's pictures! Thanks to you all. P.S. Dear Trey- I admire your confidence, manners, and sense of humor-I know they help make you a success in the future. Stay cool. :) I'm just sayin'.

Sweet Lafe

I love visiting a farm...I spend a lot of time at my friend's farm growing up and loved every minute of it. It was fascinating, fun, work, and there was always something to do. So I jumped at the chance to shoot photos for baby Lafe at the family farm. I am pretty sure he has been on every piece of equipment imaginable and probably helped steer most of them. So I reckon at age 5 he can just drive his John Deere in to my house for a photo shoot! ;)
I was a little chilly the day of the session, but he was a trooper.
I. love. this. HAT!!!!
Now, if you have done pictures with me before- especially if you have children, you know I will do nearly anything to get the attention of those in the picture. This could and usually does include noises. Now, given we are ON A FARM this very day, can you imagine my surprise that these two adults had trouble not falling down laughing at my attention getting noise...for the little guy, of course!! It's sort of a snort/snore noise, ya know, like a farm pig would make. This seems reasonable to me, given the location. Lafe and I liked the noise, so I went right on making it when needed and ignoring my "friends" who could barely keep their focus.

Family sunet silhouette over the cornfield. Sigh. Does it get any more down to earth than that? (Check out the ears on the hat! He was probably checking out my noises!)

I realize you might be thinking I am on a roll with the crying little ones...but honestly, this little farmer didn't cry for long. The mamas and daddys of little ones see this kind of face so often, I just want to make they don't forget it! ;)

Sweet, baby Lafe! Great job today-even in the chill. Enjoy your precious family and farm. They are priceless and so are you!

Thanks for visiting! Cheers!
