Marcus & Katie e-session

It was the steamiest day this summer thus far-hot, really stuffy hot. The kind of hot that makes you immediately break out in sweat beads across your forehead. But they didn't care. They were all smiles and chattering about their upcoming wedding. We took lots of little breaks in the air conditioning and made the best of it. The lighting was lovely, so long as we didn't stay out long enough to start the sweat beads!
They were precious and sweet- and giggled a lot. I love the ring shot...

Marcus is originally from Hawaii so their wedding will take place there next summer- lucky them! Hawaii is really gorgeous, so a dreamy, beach wedding sounds picturesque! (Major hint: If your resort photographer gets sick at the last minute, I would be HAPPY to fill in! ;) )

They seemd so relaxed together-and I enjoyed hearing about their engagement and life together so far.

Something got Miss Katie tickled here, but I just love the look!

Showin' off the bling! Way to rock it, Sista!

The lighting was really buttery-warm and smooth. I loved how it looked in these next shots.

Another Sweetie.

Baby Ella is such a sweetie. She showed up for the photo shoot asleep. Like in the middle of a great, deep sleep. We got several shots before she ever woke up-and she never even knew it!

She is less than two weeks old, but could hold her head here for a quick shot. I love the look on her mama's face. They look so happy to have each other.

The fam!

Jackson, the little charmer! His eyes are so dreamy. He really liked my daughter, so she could get him to smile and sit still- at least a few times!

Just chillin' on daddy's arm. Miss Ella was very laid back and really happy for the whole shoot. She didn't let much get to her!

"What, sweet little who, me?" Cutie!!!

The stars aligned for this next shot-Jackson is nearly two, but as all little guys that age do, he had his own agenda and it didn't really include getting too close to his baby sister. After all, she isn't that much fun for him...yet. It's a good thing I am quick on the draw, because this pose lasted milliseconds!

Sweet, baby girl!

I had a great time photographing your precious family, guys. Thanks for coming by. The smiles and giggles we shared were memorable!

3 Peas in a Pod

I was lucky enough to photograph two newborns this week...and they were both just lovely little gals! This little one has two big brothers, and when they sat down to cuddle in with her for the shot, I could see it made a heart shape with their arms around her, so I took the shot from up higher so I could capture it! Didn't it turn out just darling?!
Sweet baby! LOVE the bow. Her mama brought it along and it just made this shot.
OK, seriously, you gotta love the flower headband!! My husband would always tease me when I put them on my daughter as a baby...and to be honest, I didn't have that many for her since (those of you who know me realize) I don't accessorize very often. It looks like my daughter didn't get the accessory gene either, but she has lots of other gifts! ;)

Daddy cuddling in with the little gal. He could toss her around like a sack of potatoes with his big hands, and she didn't worry a bit. She was so calm while he was moving her all over the place. It was so sweet to see them.

The family hugs in to 'feel the love!'

With two older brothers, Miss Ella will have to hustle to catch up. They were soooooo darn sweet and great listeners. I had a ball saying their names in funny voices to get them to look. They couldn't help themselves from laughing. (I think I am pretty funny!) I would love to know what they really thought about me...probably "Crazy Lady!"

Sweet Gus. Sigh. A blue-eyed curly headed blond. Just precious. The girls will sure be chasing him!

Mr. Henry- what a doll. He is a charmer!
The boys. No girly pink in this shot!

Another great group shot. Those boys just didn't know what I would say next- and frankly, neither did I! Thanks, guys, for the hoots and hollers..you were so great!

Ty & Kirby

"Put your foot up there-she likes feet!" And in a flash, Ty showed off his darling toes. I laughed out loud as I took this picture, thinking about how Ann must be a loyal blog reader, since she knew about my fascination with feet. Not my own, mind you, just those of cute little guys. I would give him the "Best Foot Pose" thus far!! (If you send in any cute foot poses of your own, I'd be happy to post them!)
His smile is another great feature of his:
And his adorable little bro:

Ty runs in for a tackle of daddy. I think his uncle taught him a few things about tackling at a high rate of speed for better impact...he seemed to have the hang of it, but took it easy on daddy here.

Doesn't the baby look so sweet?!

...and entertaining!!!! (He is thinking: Now, Daddy, do as I say and you won't loose your nose!)

He looks happy to be hanging out with Granny T!

Now, while Kirby is charming everyone by gazing off to the side and smiling sweetly, and his mom is pulling off a wonderful, cuddly smile, Kirby meanwhile has his fingers through her earring and is giving it a healthy tug! We ran to rescue her...after the shot, of course! ;)

Aaww...a little brotherly love. We did get Ty to slow down just long enough to love on his brother a bit. So sweet.

The Family!

Thanks, guys, for a great time spent with you. It is great to see such family love with an especially sharp sense of humor! ;) Take care.

Seriously...Baby Nolan.

I really didn't forget baby Nolan-how could I? He was absolutely precious! He stole my heart for a bit-he was so tiny and smelled so great!!
I love the shot above on his daddy's arm. He was so adorable...and sleeping really hard! Isn't he beautiful?

We juggled him around and passed him from perosn to person, but this little guy was out. I so wish I could sleep THAT hard. I have the feeling he knew just who was holding him and he felt safe, so he just kept sleeping. He made all the great baby noises-grunting and squeaking-those precious sounds don't last long enough. Those baby sounds bring such fond memories to mind.
He woke up for a bit and managed to hold his head up for a short bit. Check out those dreamy eyes, and plump lips. Isn't he darling?

And then he slept some more!

Some family shots. His parents are so loving and laid back. This little guy really has it made! They are just so content with spending time with him.
LOVE the close up. His skin is flawless...he still has some little flakes of newborn. Sigh. I just love the little babies. This time goes so quickly.
This next one is natural light by the big window. It shows off how tiny and fragile he is. He cuddled right up and again...slept!

Honestly-this shoot was just lovely and relaxing. I had a fabulous time with your family.

Miss Lilly Belle

My friend asked me recently to photograph her daughter's first birthday. I jumped at the chance-Miss Lilly is such a cutie and I knew this party would be well done. Her mom is a photographer and ad designer and her daddy is a web developer, so there was a bit of looming pressure to get great shots when you are shooting for other folks that have an eye for composition, but the day was so full of details and precious moments, the pictures turned out just great.
Every princess should have her name on the wall in a fun and funky font!
Her theme was polka dots...and the hat and bib sported the theme well.

The AWESOME cake from Indy Cakes was crazy fabulous! Loved it!
Tulips have always been one of my favorite flowers...I couldn't resist these sitting near the cake. All the pinks just added to the girly feel of the party.
The honored chick in her birthday dress- polka dotted, of course!
There's nothing better than baby toes...clean ones especially!! ;)

The birthday girl dons her special hat for cake eating ceremony!
Miss Lilly was very neat and tidy during her cake eating, but check out Grandma's hand who decided to make sure she got a taste-and a little on her face!

I am quite sure she has her daddy wrapped around her little finger...they were just adorable together.

Lilly and her mom were all smiles too. I think they really look alike here. Em did such a great job with all the details of the party.
These cuddly, cozy shots still make me smile. The day was gorgeous, the guest of honor was happy, and her parents were so attentive. This is one lucky gal!

Thanks for letting me share Lilly's special day. It couldn't have gone any better-great job! What a sweet family!

Work it, girls! (and Dad too!)

My mom and dad survived raising three girls quite well if you ask me. I have a sister a year older and a sister a year younger (Note: this does indeed make me the middle child-make your observations from there) , so I am sure at times my parents thought they might pull their hair out, but they made it quite successfully. I was sure to mention this to Shaun, the dad of this group of girls when he seemed a little outnumbered. He laughed and said, "Good to know." This family was just lovely and playful-and we had a great time in the backyard.
Check out this little gal workin' it!

What a doll baby- the family calls her "Mama" and she just cracked me up! Two year olds doing two year old things are always way more entertaining when they aren't your own. She was such a charmer...

The sweetie with the big, brown eyes and eyelashes to die for! (I am NOT jealous or anything.)
Looks easy and cozy. The girls all did a nice job.
A little daddy lovin' for the little one.
This next shot is one of my favs. I love the coziness and how cuddling up made them all smile. It was just great how everyone was into it.

By special request=AWESOME.

I just must say that when they were leaving and I walked them to the car, I stuck my head to the window to tell the girls how great they were and little Avery said, "LOVE YOU!" AAAwwwww....she just made my day! Out of the mouths of babes! Thanks, guys!

Spencer...2009 senior

On a windy, May day, I met Spencer out at the winery for some senior photos. We had to be a bit creative so his stylish hair didn't stand up on end during the shoot. He was ssooo easy to work with-he did absolutely everything I asked without hesitation! Ya gotta love that.

At some point during the shoot, I said something like, "You look so cute," and he replied, "Too bad the high school girls don't say that!" I just laughed. They think it, they just don't say it, I was sure to let him know.

Later I made reference to our earlier conversation about how we would just handle all the girls who would be calling up after these photos...Ha! So, Spence, if you need help making a spreadsheet to keep them all in some kind of order, just let me know! I am pretty good at office documents too! ;)
Love this shot by the archway.

We really had a nice time talking and figuring out great spots to shoot. It wasn't hard to do, Spencer went right along with it all. He could give a few lessons on how to handle things in stride. He didn't seem to worry about a thing.

Great shot of Spencer looking all confident and tough guy. It kinda makes me laugh because he really had trouble keeping a straight face. His easy going approach to life if admirable and he made modeling look like a piece of cake!

Thanks to Spencer and fam for hanging out the other night and making it work. His manner and sense of humor are certainly going to take him places!!
Thanks for visiting!
Cheers!

Sweet, gorgeous baby Ella

She was just darling. At just four weeks old, she has the softest skin, smiled at her daddy, and smelled ssooo good. (I wonder if my 5 yr. old son will figure out I still sneak baby lotion on him every once in a while to cover the sweat and Cheetos smell and get a little baby fix! ;) ) I oohed and aahed over her every move. I got to pick her up to rearrange her a few times and cherished the moments. Babies certainly are miracles- I am reminded of it every time I am lucky enough to photograph one of them-and this one was an angel on earth!

Chillin' on mama's lap-fully trusting her! She knows exactly where she is.

Sweet baby feet- (Trust me, there isn't much foot kissing around my house!)
Another great napping spot is daddy's arm. She really is feeling the love around her. She was very calm and happy...

The headband is so cute-the daddy's sometimes protest a bit, but accessories really make the outfit, so she donned this girly one. Loved it!

I LOVE THESE SHOES!!!!!!!!!! I plan to scour the internet to find an article of clothing for myself with that--"If the tiara fits..." How great is that?!?!

Also, note to self: Every girl should have a tiara!

It was wonderful spending an evening with your lovely family. Your angel is absolutely precious!

Jess & Mike- Wedding

On the day of the wedding, the groom decided he just couldn't do it. He had agreed to it, but he just couldn't go through with it. He just couldn't see her before the ceremony. It changed the schedule for the day, but it was charming. He wanted to wait and see her for the first time in her gown as she walked down the aisle on their wedding day. So, we did as many pictures as we could before the ceremony on that bright May day and saved the together ones until after.

Doesn't Jess look adorable with her "I can't believe I just got married!" look on her face? And he is just lovin' the look too!

When we walked back from a little private session with the bride and groom, I was walking behind them and caught sight of the church in the background. I just loved it-I hollered "WAIT!"...and then "KISS!" and being the compliant, fun-loving folks they are, they did it in a blink! I love the composition and feel of it all around.
The wedding party rocked it in front of the Seymour Police Dept. building. Luckily, no one was arrested for the double jay walking we did to get there from the church. Or for any other reasons. ;)

The bride & groom rocked it too!!!

Check out this cake-what a beautiful setting. I was really lovin' the cool backdrop material and lights. Really lovely.

The first dance is usually one of my favorites parts of the day. The two are alone for the first time-out on the dance floor away from the crowd. They have time to catch up, take a breath, an enjoy each other without interruption. This one was no exception. The look in her eyes says it all.

Congratulations, Mike and Jess-your day was just grand and the laughs along the way made it that much easier to do. Best wishes!

Amy & Adam...e-session

These two adorable folks are just so comfortable and sweet together. Their shoot was so fluid and easy-like we had known each other for a while. Amy and I had met before, but I hadn't met Adam until the day of the shoot. He easily rebutted all my quirky remarks, handling them swiftly and quickly--making Amy giggle every time, and impressing me. His humor reminds me of my husband's, so I thought I could eventually stump him using techniques I have perfected over the years. But alas! He came back EVERY time. I was matched. And so Amy and I were greatly entertained.

He complied with whatever was asked- even though Amy said about a week before the shoot, he stated that he thought they were coming by for "just one shot." Just a few more than that...and lots of laughs as well.
He helped the pose for this shot...one of the best shots of the day. It turned out to be one of their favorites. Very natural. I gively directions in a vague way to clients have a chance to show their personalities. I think I was shooting Amy sitting there and asked Adam to run over behind her and cuddle in. They both did a great job.

I asked Adam to hold the camera for a minute and offered for him to take a shot and he chose her feet...isn't this a cute shot of her toes? (Her toes are waaaayyy cuter than mine...) Maybe she has a future in foot modeling!

I LOVE this next shot...their wedding in July will be great fun. They were so easy going and have great body language. That makes for great pictures!

So, let me end with this hammed up shot. I asked Adam if he had brought along his shot list- you know, the list of ALL the shots he was hoping for and he said he left that at home. (Remember, he thought they were coming for AN engagement picture?!) But he sure played it up to the camera! And check out Miss Amy...giggling away at her man. Big fun.

Thanks, guys, for a great time and some fabulous shots. I can say there was never a dull moment with you two!
