Pig Tails!

Not the kind you see in a little girl's hair, but the REAL kind.
We made it a family event to deliver Hudson's picture cd to his parents- and visited the farm of Stuckwisch Show Pigs. We had such a fabulous time! These little guys are around 4 weeks old:

LOVE the spots. This picture was different when I noticed two on the ground, two standing, and bordered by a row of piglet bums! Some tails are curlier than others, but they are all precious. They were all squealing and trotting around the pen. When someone stepped into the pen with them, they would shy away for a bit, but then come closer and closer until they were nibbling on a tennis shoe or pant leg!

Allen showed us how sometimes you just have to love on them like babies...that little pig just cuddled up. He is about three weeks old and the runt of the litter. On the day we were there, they were weaning the babies from their mamas. I couldn't stay to watch that. They said the mamas are sad for a day or two, but then everyone adjusts. I just couldn't stand the mamas calling for their babies.

I held one too. I played lots on my friend's farm growing up, so farm animals aren't too foreign to me. I started laughing really hard because this one started squealing his lungs out as soon as I took him. He looks so calm here...so cute, cuddly, and sweet-except for the fact that his tiny mouth is blurting out gigantic squeals!!!!!

Ok, so, baby Hudson showed up and so did his dog, Murphy. One of them didn't mind the piglets a bit, but one of them couldn't stand being near them! Can you guess which is which? ;)

This one whispers in his neighbor's ear, or maybe he is getting ready to nibble it. I couldn't tell which.
Allen decided to give us all a ride on their prize boar, Flesh 'n Bone! I used to ride pigs at my friend's farm when we were kids and loved it-until they tried rubbing us off on the gate or side of the barn. It was some great entertainment for us, nonetheless.
But this guy was much more accomodating. He just walked around a bit and appeased the crowd. It was a first time experience for almost everyone, including my husband! The city boy sure can ride!

This picture says it all, "The End!" Some days when you are feeling a little down and out, just remember this little pig face in the middle of a bunch of piglet bums, and maybe it won't seem so bad! ;)
Thanks for visiting!
Cheers!
