Guardian Angel

Recently, precious baby W came with her parents for newborn images. I was instantly taken by her full head of dark hair-complete with a bow! She has beautiful features and was a charm to work with. I loved watching her doting parents break into a smile with each interaction and knew she would never be lacking for love or attention. Her mama mentioned wanting pictures with this bear and I was happy to oblige, so when Miss W had gotten tuckered out, we brought out the bear and it wrapped around that sleeping baby like arms from heaven.
As I photographed, her mama told me the story of how this bear had belonged to her niece-who passed away last year at the precious age of 3 from a rare disease. The bear had belonged to baby W's cousin. I was so sad to hear the news-and kept shooting, waiting to get this shot-one that just felt right. The way Miss W snuggled right in and that bear wrapped around her, I just knew she was comforted and comfortable there. I, too, was comforted by watching her. We shared a peaceful and sweet moment watching and thinking.
Maybe she knows things we don't about her guardian angel.


I remember lots of things about most of the sessions I do, but this will always be one that is dear to my heart. I really enjoyed getting to meet this family- and wish all of the family peace and happiness.
