Genuine joy

I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Robbie and Alli's wedding yesterday. I really love wedding days, hectic as they may be, because those few minutes during the vows and exchange of rings, there is a calmness- for everyone. All the worries and details are temporarily frozen and it is just down to the promises made between the bride and groom. I usually tear up a bit, sentimental fool that I am, and it happened yesterday. I was happy for them. If you remember the post a few weeks back about these two, titled "The Joy of Love," I ended by saying what a happy feeling I was left with after snapping Robbie and Alli cuddling and laughing together. Their wedding day was no different.

Their first look at each other was in the gazebo-he brought a rose-sigh- and they were taken with each other. The happiness and smiles were locked in for the day.

Alli sporting the look! The girls teared up when she slipped the dress on-just out of happiness for her. It was really touching. And, of course, she looked great!

They were surrounded yesterday by family and friends who shared their joy of love. The other 18 members of the bridal party were fantastic-smiling and teasing even thoough we were outside for a few shots in the hot summer sun. The wedding party was a real hoot. The guys even came up with this pose! I loved it. During the ceremony, to help relax the groom, each groomsmen patted, hugged or kissed the groom as they passed him standing in the front with the preacher. Their cute gestures helped Robbie relax and brought a smile to everyone in the church. It was evident the entire bridal party couldn't wait for the bride and groom to be hitched so they could celebrate.

I never had to ask them more than once to kiss. They were usually already doing it anyway. They were incredibly great sports throughout the day. It can be quite exhausting having everyone call you this way and that, but these two understood exactly what the day was about. Their love. And what a day it was!

Guys, thanks very much for a wonderful day. I wish you all the best and look forward to going through the pics when you get back. (Good luck, too, with the tropical storm! Stay safe!)

Thanks for visiting!
Cheers!
