Friday night "date"

We are all so busy with things, it is not often my husband and I get a date. So I decided last week to tag along with him to a Friday night football game (he covers sports for the local papers as a hobby), bring my camera, and hang out on the sidelines with him. It was a beautiful night and it was great to watch a game. I love sports, which is good when you are married to a sports fanatic and I know the rules to almost every one (except wrestling), because growing up, my neighborhood was full of boys that always made my sisters and I play the correct way-tackle football and all. No taking it easy on the girls! In the long run, it really helped me out!
I am really digging this image:

This game last week between Brownstown and Clarksville had a little bit of everything- even before the first half was over!
Even an onside kick in the first half- a bit unusual, but it worked!

If you look closely in the image below, the ball is coming straight toward the camera...only once during the game did I grab my camera and hop out of the way of being tackled. I am very aware of where the players are headed and the movement of the ball. Taking pictures can be quite dangerous! ;)

The handoff...

Here he is, interviewing a player after the game. He is really a great writer-he always has been-it is one of the things I admire so much about him. He has this amazing ability to create really great stories.
It was fun to be on the sidelines with him again. We used to cover basketball together-before our family-his name was on the story and mine was with the photo credit. It may be odd to have such fond memories of sporting events, but it works for me. I am just happy our hobbies go so well together. Who knows where it may lead some day... For now, it just makes for a great Friday night!
Thanks for visiting!
Cheers!
