Freezing a moment

There is something powerful about being able to freeze a moment in time. Often is it something the eye doesn't even really see since it happens so quickly. It may be some very small, quick movement we don't even remember happening, but the camera has the ability to capture it. I was at a dance recital this weekend, and as anyone with kiddos knows, things happen at lightning speed. So, even in a very dark auditorium, my trusted Canon with a 2.8 lens can grab the action and freeze it.
Check out this tootsie- who knew she would fly this high at the tender age of 4?! What agility! Grace, I say!

OK, I just love the little gal on the very left of the picture below:

I am pretty sure all of them are supposed to be jumping (and clapping?!) but the little gal on the end is just pointing out the pretty hair fufu on the gal next to her! I just love it. Kids are so completely genuine-so good at being themselves and saying whatever comes to mind- whenever that may be.

Kick it, sister!

When in doubt, tuck your hair behind your ears, it always buys some time, while your dancemates look off stage to their teacher for guidance. They look so darling in their costumes!

Does this image say "Flashdance!" to you at all?

Anyway, I had a fabulous time and was completely entertained. It really was just heartwarming to see all the little gals tapping and shaking their jazz hands throughout the night. The songs, costumes, and especially the dancers really made it a great night out.
Thanks for visiting!
Cheers!
