Over the last couple weeks, a few events have set into motion the strengthening of feelings that everyone feels from time to time. Watching my cousin sort through things after a devastating fire that destroyed her pets and home, listening to another cousin speak to the kids my 4th grade classroom about the physical challenges he has spent a lifetime overcoming, and spending a few hours with a new friend with an amazing outlook on life.

It makes me stop to soak it all in-sort out what really matters and admire others for being themselves and not knowing how incredible they are. These days I think alot about resilience, courage, optimism, credence, and generosity. I have been taught to look for the good in others and, lately, I haven't had to look too far. Just when I start getting a bit worried about the state this world is in, I witness everyday people showing great capacity for overcoming difficulties and I am inspired by it. I am motivated to make each day a little better.

So, Ellen I say, thanks for showing me how to keep on keepin on, no matter what life throws at you-whether you need to cry, laugh, or yell to get through it, it can and will be done. You blow me away with your ability to survive.

To Fred, without really knowing it, you have shown many people that if you put your mind to it, nothing can stop you. I have never once heard you complain or make excuses and your success reflects your mindset. Thanks for keeping life in perspective for me.

And finally to Jasmine. I shot part of this past weekend's wedding with Jasmine-a gal I met at a photography class last year and who spiritedly clicked away and allowed me to spend a bit of time with my family at the reception. She is as humble and kind as she is beautiful. Her warmth is evident the minute you meet her-she has such an ease about her. I was so struck by something she said she learned by shooting with me. "Sometimes you just have to put down the camera and enjoy the moment." It was wonderful to actually be in some of the photos-especially with my 91 year old grandmother.

She may never realize the magnitude of her selfless gesture or how much I appreciate her stunning shots at the beach, but I will always know it. I truly thank her. Visit her site: www.jasminestarphotography.com Jasmine, girl-thanks so much for your help, your photos, but mostly for being you. Spread the sunshine!

(The bride actually took this photo- way to go, Tina!! ;) )

Thanks for visiting!
